CONGRESSIONAL MEDAL OF HONOR ASSEMBLY

CAPTAIN SHREVE HIGH SCHOOL

Captain Shreve High School was honored to host a Congressional Medal of Honor Assembly featuring Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient, Captain (ret) Thomas J. Hudner, U.S. Navy.  The special assembly was held on Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. in the auditorium.  After welcoming Captain Hudner in the front of the school, the Captain Shreve JROTC participated in the program.  From the Posting of the Colors, the Pledge of Allegiance let by Cadet Lt. Col. Brittany Davis, to the beautiful National Anthem sung by Cadet Akia Ford, and the recitation of  "I am the Flag" by Cadet Tyler Spears, the guests, student body, and faculty had a special morning.  A special guest was Mr. Thomas E.  Cook who was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.

Blake Olive, Student Council President, had the honor of introducing Captain Hudner.  Captain Hudner spoke to the student body of the heroes of September 11, the great nation that we live in, and the Congressional Medal of Honor.
