The Alumni Association is pleased to announce the dedication of the Stanley M. Powell Auditorium which will be held on October 8, 2004 at 10 A. M. in the auditorium foyer. A special recognition ceremony that night at half time at the Shreve vs. Natchitoches game will be held. See the Alumni letter announcing this fine and well deserved event.

ALUMNI ASSOCIATION COMMITTEES If you are a member of the CSHS Alumni Association, we need your help. You do not have to be a member of the Executive Board to offer your time and contributions to Captain Shreve. There are several committees that are in need of volunteers. Topping the list is the Membership Committee. Also, volunteers are needed for the Newsletter Committee. ( Each newsletter has to be sealed, labeled, sorted and counted before it can go to the post office.) All of you "71105 and 71106 Gators" are in a perfect place to help! Just call Rosemary Day our Executive Director at 865-7137 and volunteer a few hours of your time.

Your Alumni Association is dedicated to helping maintain the excellence of the high school experience that you as a student enjoyed. For a tax-deductible gift of just $500, you can be a part of the rebuilding process, and have your name engraved on a permanent plate attached to the locker of your choice. the locker numbers correspond to the jersey numbers, so you can choose to sponsor your own jersey number. PAVILION PROJECT The Alumni Association-sponsored "Patio Project" is nearing completion. We are finishing up the 3rd stage of this project. The foundation and sidewalk were poured in 2001, the cedar frame and metal roof were installed in the summer of 2002 and the tables were ordered in 2003. Fourteen (14) forest green commercial quality tables with benches arrived in January 2004 with a seating capacity of approximately 112. The tables are bolted to the cement floor of the pavilion. The tables were practically being used as they were assembled in early January. Each day the pavilion is packed with students during their lunch shifts whether it is cold and rainy, or warm and sunny. Students are certainly enjoying this fully equipped facility sponsored by your Alumni Association. This is also an area that will be available for social functions by organizations associated with Captain Shreve.
CSHS "BRICK LEADERS" Patio brick pavers are in and installed. If you have not purchased your engraved brick to be placed in various locations around the pavilion area, please do so soon. Space is limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
There are three categories of bricks from which to choose:
The Signature Brick will have CS in block letters on one corner of the brick. The Gator Signature Brick will be included in a special place in the Pavilion area. Alumni Pavilion now in use! What a treat it was to hold the Booster Club's Tail Gator Party under the Alumni Pavilion. Although it was built for educational purposes we now have a great place to hold various functions for the school. Originally, the pavilion was requested in order to stop having to split the 4th hour classes in half because there was not enough capacity in the cafeteria for only 2 lunch shifts. Now students have the opportunity to eat and visit outside on the covered pavilion at lunch. |

Class of 1968
Reunion plans for the class of 1968 are underway for Friday, September 26 and
Saturday, September 27. Tentative plans include a 5:00 p.m.Tail Gator at the
Alumni Pavilion prior to the homecoming game at 7:00 p.m. followed by a
post-game mixer. September 27: a noon picnic at the pavilion and at 7:00 p.m.
dinner & dance is scheduled for Saturday night. For more information contact Kay

Class of 1988
The class of 1988 has scheduled a class reunion for October 17 & 18, 2008.
Tentative plans are a tailgate party at the Alumni Pavilion prior to the 7:00
football game. Events are also scheduled for Saturday beginning with a noon
family picnic followed by an evening party. More details will follow. Contact
