KGTR is now accepting applications for the 2012-13 teams.  Applicants must complete an essay describing how they will be an asset to the team, agree to the course requirements, and have excellent teacher recommendations.  Applications may be picked up in Mrs. Barclay’s room, A108.  Applications are due no later than March 20.  No late applications will be accepted.

Any young man interested in playing football next year needs to see Coach Lary.  After school workouts will begin Tuesday, February 28th.  We will work out on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45 until 4:30.  You must make 80% of the workouts to be able to participate in Spring Practice. 

Any male or female interested in trying out for Varsity Cheerleader or AL. E. Gator for 2012-13 school year, please pick-up a form from Coach Hunt. 

Are you a competitive, highly-motivated person that’s looking for a way to express yourself and learn academic and public speaking skills?  The debated team will be conducting try-outs for next year’s team on Tuesday, February 21st at 3:45 p.m. in Room 204.  If interested, drop by to get information packet.  Only those who have completed to audition process will be considered for membership. 

The Class of 2012 is hosting an in-house concert of Shreve talent.  ALL Shreve students are invited to audition!  The proceeds from the concert will be used to create a memorial for Justin Hightower.  Auditions for this great event will be held today after school in the auditorium.

The League of United Latin American Citizens awards scholarships to qualified Hispanic students.  These awards range from $250 to $500.  See Ms. Day for a copy of the application and more information.  All forms must be in by March 31, 2012. 

The Captain Shreve High School Alumni Association Scholarship is open to any senior from Shreve who has a 3.0 gpa and who submits a 250-500 word essay on the topic of how he/she selected the college or university that he/she plans to attend based on educational needs.  Friday, March 23, 2012 is the deadline for all applications.
