Seniors, report to the front of the school for the 50th Anniversary picture after your 1st period teacher checks roll tomorrow morning, Thursday, September 21.

Key Club is looking for dedicated students who want to make a difference in their school and their community.  Pick up an application packet from Mr. Scott in BC01 or Mr. Doughty in A204 by Friday.

Homecoming game against Westgate is Friday night at 7:00 at Lee Hedges Stadium.  Tickets will be sold this Thursday and Friday in the cafeteria foyer during both lunch shifts and on Friday morning at 7:45.  Tickets are $7 presale.

There will be a Spanish Club meeting on Wednesday, September 20th, at 3:50 for all current and past Spanish students. Bring $5 in exact change for the cost of membership.  Make sure you can be picked up promptly at 4:45.

This is Homecoming Week--a great week to show your Gator spirit. Remember, as you choose your costume each day, you must follow the school dress code. Student Council wants everyone to participate. The following is the list of dress-up days for the week.
- Thursday: Golden Ticket to Hollywood (dress like favorite tv character or actor/actress)
- Friday: Golden Ticket to the Swamp (Green and Gold Day)

Attention ALL CURRENT National Honor Society Members:  If you would like to run for an officer position, see Mrs. Langdon in room A107 no later than 9/21 for information about officer responsibilities and approval.  Positions include:  President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer.  Don't miss out on this leadership opportunity.

A LSUS representative will visit with Captain Shreve students on September 21st during both lunch shifts in the cafeteria foyer.

Students interested in joining Youth and Government and current members:  Friday, September 22nd is the final day for submitting your Youth and Government information sheets and $45 dues.  Use payforit.net or bring cash, check, or money order to Mr. Deville.

At Home Academy offers a prep class one month prior to each National ACT exam date. The next class starts September 24th for the October 28th test date. Contact Beth Woods at (318) 465-6475 or athomeacad@gmail.com to register.

Juniors and Seniors, sign up in the front office to take the ASVAB Tuesday, October 3rd, at 8:30 in the auditorium.   There is no fee to take the test.  Results can help you estimate your performance on the ACT and identify possible careers that you may not have considered.

The PSAT will be administered on Wednesday, October 11, at 8:30 a.m. in the auditorium to any interested 11th graders.  The cost is $15.  Please bring cash or money order to Ms. Allen’s’ office before or after school, during lunch or simply go to payforit.net and select PSAT to pay.  The PSAT is an opportunity for juniors to assess skills in critical reading, math reasoning, and writing and can help qualify for scholarships.  The deadline to sign up is Tuesday, September 20, 2017.  See Ms. Allen with questions.

Are you a junior taking the PSAT?  Come to a crash course on Tuesday, September 26, from 4-6 in room A112.  See Mrs. Allen in the office for details about a practice test that you should take before the 26th.  Questions?  See Mrs. Simon or Mrs. Mangham.

All students who are interested in lifting for the Powerlifting Team, please pick up an eligibility packet in  room A203 before or after school, during lunch or between classes.  There will be an athlete/parent interest information meeting Tuesday, September 26, at 5:00.

Are you struggling in Math?  Do you need help preparing for a Math test?  Or just a little help with homework?  Captain Shreve's Math Club can help.  Peer tutoring is available every Wednesday morning in Room A112 from 7:45 to 8:15.  Just drop in and be sure to bring your math work with you.

PTSA Safety Drawing Contest is underway.  The theme this year is “Staying Safe Around Animals.”  If you would like to participate in this contest, please see Ms. Clark in the art department.  Entries are due October 12.
