In response to my recent comments re: boys' soccer, a girls' tennis team parent correctly notes:

"In recent years the Shreve girls tennis team finished first, second and third at the State 5A tournament.  They've won regionals for many years in singles and doubles."

I received this e-mail from a lacrosse parent :

" We played a lacrosse scrimmage in Dallas on Saturday against Hillcrest High School. Varsity won 11-5 and JV lost 6-1. Lax'n on the Red Tournament is February 19-20 at Tinsley Park in Bossier."

Soccer

The girls soccer team will play its first round playoff game Friday 2/4 @ 6:00 v. Ruston in Ruston. After watching the girls win, what better way to celebrate the win than with the rest of your Shreve family at the baseball party.

Let's see : game over @ 7:30; drive I-20 west (70 mph of course); exit downtown to Clyde Fant Parkway which takes you right to Savioe's by 8:45 and the party is just getting started !

The Shreve family turned out in force last night to spur the guys on to their 3rd straight district title. Thanks for responding in such great numbers.

The guys will probably play in town on Sat. The girls will play in Ruston on Thurs or Fri. More details to come. Make plans to to attend and support you playoff bound soccer teams !

Thanks so much for all of your e-mails keeping everyone informed about

soccer. The crowd was great! The team could hear them loud & clear. It really gave the boys a big boost knowing so many fans were behind them.

Everyone please read this recent e-mail I received from Galen Norgard re: the Magnet game.  The game has BEEN MOVED TO INDY STADIUM !  Still set for Monday night Jan 31 but the actual game time could be later than the original 6:00 time. Stand by for updates and check out the Shreve soccer website:


Ben,  the match Monday night is going to be moved to Indy.  Caddo  is going
to be a mess at best, unplayable in all likelihood.  Coach had it  scheduled
for Indy originally but moved it to accommodate Magnet whose girls were  playing
Byrd for the district title on the football field.  He wants to  play on a
good field and a fast field.  Now it looks like all of the  matches may be moved
out to Indy on Monday.   Its up to the Magnet  girls coach as it is his home
match.  Times may be adjusted to try and get  the JV matches is.  Possible
schedule for Monday

3:30  Magnet - Byrd  JV Girls
5:00  Magnet - Byrd Varsity Girls
7:00  Shreve - Magnet Boys
8:45  Shreve - Magnet JV Boys

Other possibility is to drop the JV matches and just play the  varsities.

I will email you as soon as I find out.  You may want to give everyone  the
Shreve soccer website address _Captain Shreve High School  Soccer_
(http://eteamz.active.com/Shrevesoccer/)   so they can make sure they go at the correct
time.
