Captain Shreve has a new boys’ basketball coach and the selectee is a person with strong ties to several schools in northwest Louisiana.
Green Oaks coach Chris Bush was tabbed on Wednesday by Shreve principal Ginger Gustavson to run the Gators’ program, replacing long time coach Todd Martinez, who is moving to Benton High.
“I’m excited. We had a good pool of applicants and we found someone who has already been successful at the 5A level as a coach and who has been an administrator,” Gustavson said. “Those are two qualities that go hand-in-hand.”
Bush will finish the school year at Green Oaks, where he led the Giants to a 19-14 record and an LHSAA Class 3A state playoff berth.
