The Captain Shreve PTSA is a volunteer parent driven partnership with administration, teachers, and students. Our mission is to ensure the success of all of Captain Shreve’s stakeholders. Our goal is to offer support and fill the gaps that may exist day to day so that administration and teachers can focus on fostering personal, social, physical, emotional, and intellectual growth mindsets for every student.
Shreve PTSA, led by its Executive Board of volunteer parents- plans and deploys key functions and fundraisers that supports and celebrates every part of The Swamp. We do that by supporting and promoting our school’s pursuit of academic excellence; cheering for and alongside our sports and spirit teams; spotlighting our performing and visual arts programs; coordinating and celebrating our club accomplishments; and recognizing classroom needs and meeting those needs through strategic fundraising efforts.
According to many important educational success studies, the number one factor in determining how well your child succeeds in high school is parental involvement and support. We invite you to become a member of PTSA whether you are a parent, student, or teacher and together we can and WILL make a difference. High school is a unique and especially important time for parents to continue to be engaged and involved in their children’s education. Your volunteerism, whether by donations or your in-person time, is the key to ensuring this success.
Shreve PTSA has two primary monetary strategies to fund these initiatives and fill the gaps. The first way is through PTSA membership dues. The second way is through donations to our Focus Fund which are also tax deductible.
Our ability to execute our mission and meet our goals for Captain Shreve stakeholders is dependent on your support and participation. We guarantee you will personally be rewarded through this engagement and contribution and more importantly, be an integral part of your child’s high school experience.
Finally, we encourage you to stay connected and informed by following our Captain Shreve High School PTSA on Facebook and on Twitter at CSHS_PTSA. Together, we can make high school in The Swamp your child’s academic and extra-curricular best four years ever. Please join the PTSA and support the greatest high school in Caddo Parish!

In 1967 a group of interested parents organized the Captain Shreve PTA in the interest of the students, the teachers, and the parents of the school. By establishing the PTA at Captain Shreve, the organization became directly affiliated with the state and national PTA and, therefore, shares a common goal - the best possible education for our young people. In 1994, PTA became PTSA, allowing students to join the organization. In 2004 the PTSA was first named a National PTA Parent Involvement School of Excellence.
Through the years the PTSA has become a working partnership of faculty and parents. It is a volunteer organization that strives to be of assistance wherever needed. PTSA is directly responsible for presenting New Parent Orientation; Back-To-School Night for parents; College Knowledge, a college awareness program for students and parents; Founders Day for recognizing a PTSA Life member and Service Scroll recipient; Distinguished Scholar Recognition Program; Educator of Distinction, Honors Day/Night for recognizing students who have brought honor and distinction to themselves and Captain Shreve; Eighth Grade Open House for potential Captain Shreve families to learn about the programs the school has to offer; and Circle of Honor, a banquet held in conjunction with homecoming activities to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions in time and service to improve the quality of life for others and brought honor to Captain Shreve.
Please consider participating in the Kroger Share Card program and other local retail contribution programs listed below. Your support, assistance, and active participation are needed. The PTSA encourages its membership to also join and support the Captain Shreve Academic Foundation and the Athletic Booster Club.

The Captain Shreve PTSA budget is based on two parts: membership dues and donations.
1. Please consider purchasing a PTSA membership for $10 for your child as well as yourselves. (Senior parents: if you would like your child to be eligible for PTSA scholarship then you must purchase a membership.)
2. Captain Shreve PTSA wants to provide an amazing year for our teachers and staff. Please consider donating $10 or more to our Focus Fund which helps make the following events and many more throughout the year a huge success. All money donated to the Focus Fund goes directly to our school.
You may contribute to the Focus Fund via LocalLevelEvents.com.
