Captain Shreve senior Caden Bagley recently finished four years as a Gators toiling in fun with coach Todd Sharp’s baseball team. Along the way, he was dominate against a field of nine additional student-athletes in the 34th Times online poll for Athlete of the Week, sponsored by the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission.
Bagley and his supporters gathered 20,137 votes, 41.4 percent of the 48,593 votes cast. Also faring well in the voting was Plain Dealing softball senior Jenny Rae Langston, who compiled 11,793 votes (24.3 percent).
Another senior athlete who had his final season in green and gold cut short, Bagley reached base safely 23 times in 36 plated appearances for a .639 on-base percentage through 10 games, according Sharp.
Bagley was batting .368 and was hit-by-pitch in eight consecutive games. He has maintained a 3.7 GPA and is a member of the national distinguished scholars. He is planning on attending UL Monroe where he will major in Kinesiology/Physical Therapy.
